I do agree that Dodge sometimes used up parts, but from what I have seen things like 1939 headlights were only used on 1939s, and VC military trucks.

I have never seen an all original 1940 2wd truck with matching color 1939 lights.

The more common thing to see is someone adding 1940 lights to a 1939 because they are a direct bolt on and they have sealed beam bulbs.
