You get what you pay for. Redwings are candystripers boots these days. Somewhat affordable, but not what you get when you go with Whites or Wesco's. Hands down the best boots, most comfortable custom made to your foot, and rebuildable.
But then again, its like anything. If you choose to pay for boots made in Oregon or Washington, you'll pay more and you'll love them forever. If you choose to buy US boots made in China, your still supporting the US company, and the shipping company, and the US retailer, and the US freight company that delivers them from the ship to the distributer and so on, and so on. With the chinese boots, you'll just have to buy 2 or 3 pairs in the same amount of time that you would own only one pair of Westco or Whites.
