After the Jap attack on Pearl Harbour, much of the Pacific Fleet was damage or destroyed. The American Industrial machine went into action building ships.
Bath Iron Works built 82 Destroyers during WWII. Liberty Ships were being launched in record time. Car Manufactures switched into building War Vehicles. Companies with no firearm building experience were producing guns, like IBM, Remington Rand etc. The US was able to gear up and supply war needs in Europe and the Pacific. With American Industry on the move, it was unstoppable and the war won.
Fast forward to today. What happens now if we get into another World War or multiple front actions on large scale. The American Industrial Machine is no longer like it was. Where do the materials come from....China, No we will probably be fighting them. This is one huge mess that is/has sapped our strength for major defense. In a Major Conflict, it could be our only defense is Nukes, and that is the end!
Is this a long term plan to reduce our ability to defend ourselves or is it just greed going to foreign countries for most of our needs, I dont know. And with GREED and the people poised wanting to take the reins, I dont see any improvement.
