Well, I'm not a welder so it's only from observation....
The town I work for bought an air supply truck that used a PTO generator to power the air compressor. The highway dept welded some shelf brackets in teh body for Fire Dept equipment. Truck is back at the manufacturer having teh generator and electrical system replaced because it was completely trashed....... The highway guys never disconnected anything before welding
