I think it will be fine. Things with ordinary light bulbs, old-fashioned motors and such work find on the "modified sine" (actually basically a square wave) inverters. It's things with electronic variable speed controls, dimmers, and such that don't like the square wave. Inverters are so inexpensive these days, that I always wonder why people run gensets when they just need less than a kilowatt. Most people running gensets in campgrounds are only powering a couple lights and a TV with it.
