If there are Vs on the side of the fenders those are forward look emblems like a 1957, but smaller. The forward look emblems were used starting in 1956, replacing the 1954-55 or early 56 Job Rated emblem. Forward look emblems were used on all the trucks of that era, both V8 and FH6.
The 1954 trucks were the first to get a V8, and it was a poly 241ci engine. Later 1954-56 1/2 ton trucks got 260ci and then 270ci engines. 1957 was the first year for the 315ci poly, and in 1959 Dodge went to the A series 318, which shares almost no parts with the earlier 241-315ci engine family.
Canadian built trucks are a little different, this is for US production only.
