My 1990 4BT Cummins: (forget what the CPL code is, will have to look)
BHP-105 at 2500 RPM,
Torque- 286lb-ft at 1700 RPM
However, a 1998 4BT with CPL 2303:
BHP-110 and 231 lb-ft rated, intermittant peak is 278...).
4BTA with CPL 1963 (also a 1998 varient):
BHP-130 at 2500 RPM
Torque- 273 lb-ft (rated, intermittant peak is 344...)
The CPL numbers mean more than the model number as they describe the options actualy incorporated into the engine...
Most bread van takeout engines that I have seen that are 4BT have been 105hp versions with the 4BTA ones being 125hp versions...
Power and Fuel Consumption tables are free for the asking from your local Cummins distributor. Just tell him your Serial Number and CPL and they will pull them up for you.
Enjoy.
