H Jesse,
There has been a lot of discussion about using cornhole oops, I mean cornhead grease in the steering box. I used it on my PW for several years before going to power steering. It worked fine for me. It is availible at John Deere dealers. It comes in regular grease gun tubes and is thinner than regular grease so it will slump down and stay in the gears.
