If you want to get into goofy gun laws, you don't have to just look at state laws. There's a federal law that an imported "non-sporting" gun (ATF decides what's "sporting" or not) can't have more than 10 non-US made parts out of a list of 15 or so specific parts. So to import them, they replace the foreign made pistol grip, gas piston, and trigger group with US made ones. What the f difference does that make? It just makes the gun cost $100 more. The US parts work exactly the same as the foreign ones they took off did.
