Side angle bed strips location

I'm trying to figure out where to locate the side angle bed strips.

Somewhere I read that the wood boards on the flat fender bed are 13/16".

Should the side angle strips be positioned such that there is about 7/8" clearance for the boards between the front bed panel lip and the strips?
