Is it really necessary to add that goop on the inside?
My thinking is, if I take it to a radiator shop and have it boiled clean, does it really need to be recoated with something?
The original metal coating (lead or nickel) should still be intact correct?
My thinking here is that it's lasted 44 years as is so far...
The above not withstanding substantial rust of course.
Thoughts?
