My first time at the rally and I had a fantastic time. Big thanks to the organizers, donors, and plethora of cool dudes who taught me more about my wdx truck in this three days than i've learned in my entire period of ownership.
And special thanks to Randy Baker (and his lovely lady) for both dragging and pulling me off the mountain in my time of (self-induced) need. Hey the brass tag on my glove box door doesn't mention anything about a "neutral" position for the transfer case! High or Low. That is it!
Also special thanks to the unnamed super hero jeep dude to whom I owe a top notch tow strap (email me please).
In any case here are my pictures including both best of show & most authentic (congrats bernard & his rockin' red '48) and fugliest truck (congrats fowler & old burly), and Rob's nifty green Power Wagon that was in this seasons Las Vegas TV show.
Lastly mega thanks to the Fowler family for preparing and serving such a wicked-tasty feast on saturday night . . . (not to mention the clean up all Sunday morning).
Here is a picture of me (1) on the tow strap right after sliding down a rutted, steep, long, muddy hill . . . sideways . . . coming to rest against a thick oak tree, and (2) right before Randy so kindly pulled me and my very hard to find WDX fenders off of that thick oak tree and got me back to camp alive.
What a great weekend.
