No, you'll see that the V-6 and V-8 Cummins are for LIGHT duty usage. 1500's and SUV's as in JEEPS and the Ram 1500. They are NOT a replacement for the 6.7 Cummins that is found in the 2500-3500-4500 and 5500 trucks, they are a compliment to it, to allow the diesel option in every vehicle.
To meet future emission requirements, fuel economy standards, lessen dependence on foreign oil and provide better power and longevity than ANY gasser ever could dream about, the future is clean, quiet, fuel efficient diesels. These new diesels get from 30% to 50% better fuel economy than comparable gas engines depending upon the vehicle size and usage.
