Tekonsha control

'Trying to get my hauler set up for Fairfield next year, I bought a Tekonsha Prodigy controller with the Dodge pigtail for my 2001 Ram. I found the receptical under the dash between the steering column and the parking brake pedal and plugged it in, per instructions. Next, I plugged into the back of the controller. The trailer was already coupled and plugged. 'Started engine, worked the lever, pushed buttons--nothing...?? There are some few words in the owners manual for the truck about trailer lights, but not much about electric brake controls. All fuses seem to be good.

Trouble shooting suggestions from anyone whose been there?
