Thanks. The arms I have look like the one in the picture, but my brackets that go inside the door have a rectangular hole but they don't have those "lips" (for lack of a better word). I wonder if I could make a piece with the "lips" and attach it to the brackets inside the door somehow. Do you have a better picture of what a proper bracket looks like?
I still don't see how the missing "lips" would make the door stop bind up when the door is nearly closed. If anything, with them not there everything should be looser. What happens is when the door is almost closed, the stop arm comes up against the outside edge of the square hole, and the rubber bumper hits the inside of the door. I tried to force it once and bent the stop arm. I wish I knew of a good M37 around here I could take a look at and see how it's supposed to be.
