Believe me...I'm not saying I'm an electrician, or that I have 1/10th the electrical knowledge of yourself or any licenced electrician...just that if one puts their mind to it...it's not difficult or dangerous to wire a house safely if you don't mind putting in the hours to study what you're doing.
50% of the guys on this forum do their own mechanical work without being licenced mechanics...which can be just as catastrophic if you don't know what you're doing.
How many guys here have done their own Power Wagon brakes? What if you hit a family in your Power Wagon & kill 8 people?
Life is a risk to a certain extent.
I agree...paying experienced people is often cheaper but why don't you take your Power Wagon to a restoration shop & earn the money you'll need to pay the mechanic/bodyman?
Do you think it's tougher to become an Electrician than a journeyman mechanic?
Probably about the same.
There's satisfaction in doing it yourself...no?
I hear what your saying but I bet I took more care in my wiring than most pro's would have taken. Same as I take more care changing my oil than Jiffy Lube.
That's my feeling anyway.
