Comparable hardware configurations cost the same, but the big value is the bundled software that comes with OSX. It is actually useful vs the bloatware you find on VIsta boxes. I've worked in computer industry since 1979 and currently work at Citrix (GoToMyPC!) so I use XP systems all day long. I even have XP running on my Mac laptop so I'm very familiar with both platforms. If you switch to Mac, a month later you will be wondering why you waited so long.
