How do I bypass neutral safety switch?

I have a '79 Dodge RAM 4x4 that I use for hunting and fishing and on my farm. Running over brush knocks the wires off the neutral safety switch and sometimes rips the connector from the wiring. How can I bypass it and not harm the electroincs? It has three wires red, green, and black. Is black the ground?
Anyone else had this problem? What is the best solution?
