I can't see it well enough to be sure, but an LU-2 would have been the stock winch for that truck, so I made a guess.

If it is an LU-4 he might be able to sell it for enough to buy an MU2, last time I looked into it there were a lot of M-37 guys that wanted LU-4s for their trucks.
