My ring gear on my flywheel had some teeth missing on it, so I called around and come to find out, it was only about ten dollars more for a N.O.S. flywheel from Vintage Power Wagons. However I had decided to change the clutch also (since I had it that far apart) which meant surfacing the flywheel, which which added machine work $$$s also.
But I've changed a couple of ring gears, and have had luck just using the oxy-acyetelene torch with rosebud. Do NOT heat the new one until red hot, otherwise you will end up with a large funky shaped paper wieght.
