The factory tags for that truck would have been on the dash or Glove box door, but if that one is missing there should be a small tag on the passenger side door jamb that would have the body tag number, and from that you could make a good guess as to what it was.
The VF 4x4 frame number is found on the drivers side of the frame between the front axle front spring shackle, and the knee action shock.
The numbers are not stamped very deep, so you will most likely need to clean off any dirt, paint, rust etc to see the numbers.
The motor in that truck should have been a T203, not a D24.
I would be very interested in seeing daylight pictures of the truck, and any numbers you find on it.
