Well, your engine would be looking at 2000 RPM but your U-joints would be seeing 4000 RPM. Generally, 3000 to 3500 RPM is the limit for u-joints if you want them to live. You would be better off to change gears. I know that is a lot more money if gear ratios are even available. Maybe drop down to a 4.56 and then an OD transmission. Your u-joints would live and you would still have good low gear power.
