Igor,
If your truck runs four wheel drum brakes, the Chevy you took the master cylinder from should also be a drum brake vehicle. If your new master cylinder was intended for a disk brake vehicle, it probably came with a proportioning valve in it. Drum brakes should not have proportioning valves. Proportioning valves reduce line pressure, usually in the rear line. The purpose of this is, in disk brake set ups, to prevent the rear brakes from locking up prematurly in relationship to the front brakes. Drum brakes do, however, need residual pressure valves. Drum brake residual pressure valves are rated at 10 lbs, and help offset return spring tension by holding pressure in the brake line. You can find some good reading at the Wilwood Tech Center http://www.wilwood.com/Centers/Information/index.asp or at Stop Tech. http://www.stoptech.com/tech_info/tech_white_papers.shtml
Good Luck!
