Joe I've seen that report in the WSJ, but the Detroit Free Press has a different spin,
"Mopar parts packaging and warehouse in Center Line"
Hopefully someone at the WSJ is screwed up and can't tell the difference between Mopar and the Mopar packaging plant and warehouse.
It would seem that if they outsource the shipping division to UPS or FedEx or whomever, they won't need to warehouse the parts they can use the shippers distribution center. It could be a win-win for them, or it could be leverage for the union negotiations, after all it's not an idle threat that GM has already spun off a percentage of Delphi Parts....
Or how about this:
General Motors Corp. (NYSE:GM) today announced that it has completed the sale of its Allison Transmission commercial and military business to The Carlyle Group and Onex Corporation for approximately $5.6 billion.
