1970 W300 bed assembly

My newly acquired 1970 W300 needs the 9 foot bed assembled. All I have to work with are the bed sides, tailgate and header. Any recommendations on type of wood to use in the bed, what to treat/finish it with, and where I can get some bed strips? I looked at Mar-K at the dodge link, seems like they could fabricate new ones, but I need the dimensions. Any help is greatly appreciated!!
