I had a friend help me today and we went and brought home a 59 W200 Power Giant I purchased off of Ebay. It is always hotter than heck when I buy these things, and I need wait till winter next time I bid on something.
The old truck is rough for sure, but better than I expected. There is actually almost no rust through, except in the immediate area of the front cab mounts. Dash and gauges are nice and cardboard glove box is still intact.
Frame has been stretched 7.25" so you can put an 8' bed on it. Frame modification was actually pretty well done and not butchered.
The vin. plate is too rusty to read the left side, so only the last few numbers of the vin are readable. It looks like they are ---3571.
The 318 in it is supposed to run. Too hot to even think about that right now.
I am not sure if I want to tackle this rebuild. Might just send her on to someone who has more time than I do. Will have to think about it for a while, but, it is certainly a truck that can be brought back to it's glory if one has the time to work on it.
