A/C Question

Will be putting air conditioning in my '47
WDX and was planning on using the 47's stock radiator(which has been completely reworked)and fan. However, when I called to order a condenser at a rod shop, they said I will be in trouble when in traffic here in Arizona without an electric fan. Any thoughts from those of you with a/c in a hot place? Am I at risk by not having an electric fan?
