If I were installing it I'd install it as is & see how it works. If the rear brakes were locking up or front brakes were locking up, then I'd worry about a proportioning valve. You'll likely need one if you're going to discs so maybe it's easier just to install one. They sell them where there's 2 inlets & 2 outlets for a dual master cylinder aplication. Of course you'll need to run all new brake lines to accomodate the dual system. Actually mounting the master cylinder would be the easy part. I'm thinking it would be easy to make it fit in place of the original.
Seems to me that Jonas made some reservoirs out of 2" pipe with a pipe cap a few years back but I'd just find a 50's-60's Unimog reservoir & install it.
Wouldn't take much if you ask me!
