Perkins diesels?

Anybody ever use a Perkins 4cy diesel for a PW re-power? Perkins was orig. bought and owned by Massy/Ferg tractor, but now is a part of Cat. They are supposedly known for extreme durability but not a whole lot of power. Rebuilds apparently involve cylinder sleeve replacement rather than re-bores. If anybody has run one in a light truck, I would be curious about economy, etc.
