Interesting! A guy I used to work for had a leather case with leather patterns inside for different standard size pipes and tubes. He used to do custom pipe fitting inside the hulls of ships. I used these patterns for cutting and fitting 2 and 3 inch Sch. 40 piping and it worked well. Having a computer program and printing paper patterns sounds like the way to go. Although on small tubing, the hole saw sounds like a good method.
