Ok, here goes...
WC-59/60 - John S. helped me remove the last two manifold studs from the block on the WC-59/60. John blasted the intake manifold I got from Tim and we are good to go with the VPWs rebuilt carb, new exhaust, etc.
John S. Jr. and I wrestled for two hours with three combat rims and came up three for three. That's three rims tackled and three disassembled after cutting off the tires with the Sawz-All. Man, was that a workout with no air wrench and only a breaker bar! John Jr. will blast them next week.
1967 WM300 - Removed a quater-size dent, 1/2" deep from a headlight with a body hammer and pick. You can't tell it was ever there! Spent a few hours with the Thailand fenders from VPWs and a sledge hammer, 50lb. weight, and body hammer. Was able to get the fenders pretty darn strait and ready for blasting and body work. Just need to blast the matching NOS headlight I got from Tim via Stone Mountain, Georgia.
Cleaned up the PTO shafts and took them to a local machine shop to remove the old U-joints (no charge). Wire-brushed everything and treated it with NAPA Rust Treatment. Took it all back to have the new U-joints installed (My vice isn't strong enough to press the caps home to install the snap rings).
1954 Wendelville PW Fire Truck - Chris W. delivered it to his place in KY, stripped off the PTO-driven pump. No small feat. Thanks Chris. I'm headed that way soon to help remove the fire body, fix the brakes, mount new 11.00x16 Michelin radials (thanks to Mike Verst), and see if we can get the tranny in reverse (No OD, Tim!). Hope to have it ready for Lee, Mass.
Work on Dissertation = Zero.
Work on Power Wagons = Lots.
Thanks to all my friends!
Life is good.
