That oil companies are publically traded entities that return their profits to their shareholders in the form of dividends or increased share price.
Nobody faults IBM or Disney for earning a dividend for their shareholders, why then are they so put out about Exxon or Texaco?
If they want to share in the oil wealth, then they just need to pick up the phone and call a broker or better yet start an E-Trade account, simple as that.
Next thing you know people will be complaining about the high price of maple syrup.
