Fuel Pressure Gauges

Question: Should I leave the Fuel Pressure Gauge installed in the truck?

The Holley manual states to install it for checking and setting the pressure, and then once set remove it. I know a lot of "race" vehicles will have them installed, but was wondering what the general consensus is on if they should be left installed or not.
