Just a thought. Your new sender appears in the picture to be adjustable for different depth tanks. As an example; I just installed 2 VDO fuel senders in my M37. The directions were very specific that the length of the support rod must be exact for a given depth tank. Also the distance from the pivot point on the support rod to the center line of he float must be a exact deminsion based on the fuel tank depth. They gave a chart to get these required measurements for given tank depths. VDO says if these measurements are not set up properly, the fuel sender will never read corectly.
So, double check you installation manual and see what deminsions need to be set for your depth tank which is 7.0" on a m37.....at least my M37 tank was 7.0" deep.
