I just herd something yesterday that made me fall out of my chair.
In Washington the environmentalist and logging companies are getting together. They are working together to get land declaired as working forests. Ie tree farms and land set aside for growing logs. They are doing this in rural areas near population areas. The goal for both sides is to stop the spread of suburbia into these close in forests. Amazing what people with such opposite ideas can do together. Actually it sound like some good ideas are happening. Land is being set aside and closed to development and logging and other is being designated as logging areas. Both sides win and it keeps the housing tracks out of some beautiful areas.
The environmentalist, who has been a little radical in the past is very happy with this relationship but he said he will still fight tooth and nail for no logging in old growth areas.
Sounds like both sides are willing to work together and get something done rather than yell at each other. You know the answer is usually in the center some place but you have to talk and work together to get anywhere
