You got that right. I usually give them very fair allowances for fixtures and details. That way they can choose something nice within the allowance or knock themselves out on their dime.
Years ago, one client wanted to pay no more than $85 a square foot for his home (4700 sq. ft.) but wanted $65 a square foot, floor granite.....= )
So yes, years of experience gives you radar, but I still try to give them the most bang for the buck, I'm 100% referral and the little things pay off.
