According to Todd, it makes the truck stop almost as well as discs. I think that Clint (aka Junior) almost kissed the windshield during a hard stop and it surprised him?!
These were an option after 1956? VPW shows them in their catalog, most are Midland. I had mine rebuilt by Power Brake Exchange up in Pittsburg. Yes you can install them on any power wagon. Runs off vacuum that it gets off of the intake manifold, the rear plug that you see on the manifold is the port.
