Yes, flow and pressure may me effected. No, timing wouldn't be- the lifters take all the slack out of the system, making a zero-lash system. No way ot would effect timing. Not like having an extra 1/8 inch lash in a solid lifter engine.
Hey, you can push on the valve stems with a block of wood- you ought to really feel the difference in seat pressure.
