{{But no one makes a 12/6V convertor as far as I know (anyone know of one?). As far as gauges: oil is mechanical, ammeter is voltage-independent, fuel and water temp are the only voltage dependent. }}
J.C. Whitney carries 12 to 6 volt voltage reducers in their current catalog. It should be around the electricla parts. You can get a large amp reducer or a low amp for single gauges. About $17 for the single jobs and $25-30 for the heavier ones.
I have seen triple post batteries that have a positive and negative post for 12 volt and another one in the middle to hook 6 volts accessories to. It was shown on the T.V. show "My Classic Car". You may find it referenced at their web site at the link. I believe it was the antique auto battery comapny that had it.
