When I did my Combat rims. I took my "not free" Sawsall blade and cut the tires off leaving about an inch above the rim. I then took a sharp chisel and with 2 or 3 blows cut the beads. The tires were really stuck to the rim but The lock ring came off once I loosened the bolts with a couple of light taps with a small hammer. I did not break any bolts with an impact wrench but there were several that were already broken.
I ordered a couple of new bolts from VPW and bought all new bolts from a local vendor. They were a high strength nut that is used in bridge construction. They were about 1/3 the cost of VPW and I bought a complete box.
