I don't mind driving things out with whatever tool will get in there, including the "blue wrench" if necessary, but I much prefer to press them in, or if I can't get in in a press, use a good-fitting driver of some sort. Seals are especially fragile and need a driver that will be an easy sliding fit into the bore so as to drive the seal around the outside edge where it's strong. I've seen a lot of bent up seals that were installed with "whatever" and the guy decided it was good enough, which it probably is for a while, or maybe it leaks a little, but not as much as the old one did so it's good enough. A lathe comes in really handy for making perfect-sized drivers out of scrap.
