The winch you have sounds like the MU model, not the MU-2, the gearboxes are simular but the angle of the mountings are different. You actually may have an MU-2 gearbox with a MU support arm. If so the face of the mounting surface of the outboard support arm ( in your case the one with the de-clutch lever & brake ) will actually be at a different angle then the mounting surface of the gearbox. The MU was desigend for the 1/2 ton early WW2 trucks. The 3/4 ton WW2 and subsequent PWs used the MU-2 which employs the spacers that Jerry is referring to. The de-cluth lever on the left or support arm end was unique to the MU and the MU-3 ( used on WW2 IHC trucks )
