I am not sure you read my story right!!

He wreaked the new 52, and found a another cab to put on it (same color as the old cab)and used the 52's vin tag on the new cab. He never used any parts of the 49 at all.

There is no differrance at all, if you have wrecked truck, that has a good frame and everthing else, and you put a new cab on it with the wrecked cab vin tag!!

Or if you have a nice PW with a bad frame and nice body, and you find a PW that has a bad body and good frame and you take the good frame and put it under you PW with the bad frame and use the vin tag from the one with the good frame!! DO you see what I mean?? Same thing only different parts of the truck are being used, one is using the cab on another truck and one is using the frame of another truck. Both use the other door tag!! Sure what you might see as illegal others have no problem with, so to each his own. I think you may have spent way to much time with Charger Fever!!

The whole point to my story which you did not understand is this. A lot of trucks out there have been rebuilt in one from or another way way before any of us ever started admiring these truck and we find it toady and think WOW that is a nice clean original PW!!! Why do we think that because we look at the door tag and the frame # and it is the same # and the truck has a nice 50 year old patina to it!! So we think it is all original! Now you find a truck that is clean and has nice patina to it but the frame # does not match the door tag and what do you think?? It has been rebuilt!!

The truck in the pics my 1952 PW, I bought this truck from the original onwers grandson last spring, I think it is all original becasue the #'s match but who I am I to know for sure!!?? Becasue I didn't get to talk to the original onwer about it only his grandson, I do know that the grandson told me that his grand dad used to have 4 pw's on the ranch at one time and he loved them all. Just like Mr Smith did, what I am trying to say is how would any of us know if anything was ever done to my 52 or Mr Smiths red 52 if the numbers match and it has a nice patina to it?? You would not!!

I will see you at the rally. Matt
