My truck is a 57, but the vin tag was missing from the door jamb, and an old plow frame had been welded over most of the frame number. What part of the number not under the plow frame is obliterated by rust. I needed a vin to register it so I "phillips screwed" a plate from a 55 that I parted out and registered it as a 55. I can not see where this will ever effect anyone.
