The thing about the K-51 is that it was a contractor-altered standard panel van, and that one of the alterations was to remove the spare wheel and mount (by gas cutting the mount where it emerged from the body)
This allowed the truck to operate without a spare wheel, as it was always used with the Ben Hur generator trailer (which was the version that came with a spare wheel) hence truck and trailer used a total of eight 7.50 x 20s with the one spare being slung under the trailer.
Most of those shots look to be the standard panel van version, which is actually rarer that the modified one as so much of the production batch was modified to signals trucks.
Confused yet? Ah, the other thing you need to know is that on the signals trucks they used the space vacated by the original spare wheel to house a big equipment locker - very visible and distinctive.
Back to Dodges. Always regretted that Dodge din't build a direct equivalent - closest being the ambulance variant of the 1940 VF 1.5 ton 4 x 4 which would look pretty much the same on a dark night.
