I took a chance today and sandblasted the FFPW hood. I was concerned because the blaster I used is at my neighbors paint plant and is a huge machine. It has a 2" nozzle opening in the wand. Its inside a double garage sized building that is designed for blasting military vehicles and the stairwells you use to board a plane. There is no real pressure adjust on the thing except to stand back from the parts being blasted- thats what I did. Stood back about 5 feet and moved the wand rapidly back and forth and didnt take off a lot of paint in any one area at a time. It sort of just "peppered" the hood. I was able to do it gently enough that I left about 3/4 of the original primer intact and removed 2 layers of paint. I guess I'll see how I did when I go to fit the hood on the cowl and radiator cover. It does look OK to me.
Thanks for the help
John
