While I agree that there is nothing wrong in cutting them, it should not have to be done. They should fit for the intended and sold purpose. Once again we are back to the old 'Quality' issue.
While changing spring bushing is a simple task for most of us, some will find it challenging. And then maybe lock the bushing in a vise and hack saw it off. The bushing gets mangled in the vise and the cut may not be square. My opinion is that if it does not fit for the sold and intended purpose, its the wrong part.
