2007 dodge 2500 question

I just bought a new 07 dodge 2500. I like it alot however yesterday after a 300 mile trip, It got 20-21 mpg. I parked it at the house. This am I went to start it and it was loaded up, running rough, sputtering and died. After re-starting it I was able to clean it out but left lots of smoke. It this normal? Could it be the new fuel blend? Thanks in advance It has only 2200 miles on.
