I thought this was too good. I had lined up some overload leaf add-ons for my W300 to give a little extra support for the front, now that I have a winch as well as the plow. The shop that was going to do the work (simple job, right?) discovered that on the right side of the differential housing there is a u-bolt on the out-board side of the spring and two bolts on the in-board side that thread into the axle housing. Well, one of these is broken and has been for a long time. They said they only fix stuff that they break and weren't interested in the job of digging the broken bolt remnant out of the housing. This I can understand, but I certainly didn't need. Their cost of installing the new spring leaves was far cheaper than I could do it myself, but now it looks like I will have to do it myself, after all. To top it off, the "overload" leaf they were going to put in looks like it belongs in a Yugo or something. Great start for the week. JH
