I know we've all been the victim of those old goobers who won't sell a truck, as it sinks slowly into the center of the earth.
In July of 1987, on my way home on the mainland of Long Island, my radar picked up the scent of something I needed. I had just bought a Farmall M and was in the process of getting it back into shape. I needed the two rear tires, which are an expensive proposition. There in a farm field, not 5 miles from home, were two tractor tires, leaning up against a tree in a field.
I knocked on the door of the farmhouse, and the little old lady who answered the door said they weren't for sale, because her son needed them for his tractor.
Today I drove by the house. The tires are still leaning against the same tree.
Do you think that twenty years is a long-enough time to wait before asking again?
